Creegonquin is an indigenous community-first security solutions and K9 service based in Moosonee, Ontario. We are a group that specializes in the application of by-laws and healing of communities. Driven by the recent losses of our loved ones and need to help our community, we have taken initiative to use the knowledge we gained over our careers to help others. We have worked for First Nation Communities dealing with the drug problem .
Attawapiskat First Nation’s very own Betty, has a deeply rooted love and connection to the land. As a member and band representative of the Attawapiskat First Nation, she focuses her extensive knowledge and beliefs onto child welfare and the legal aspects of it
Randy Cota has lived in the Omushkego area for over 10 years. Randy is a retired Ontario Provincial Police sergeant who served at the Moosonee detachment. Over the course of his 30+ career, Randy has worked multiple divisions within the police service, including the drug unit, and gained a vast wealth of knowledge which he uses to this day.
A proud member of the Moose Cree community. Passionate about training K9 assistants and have been certified as a Situation Table Instructor. When not working, you’ll find Keenan exploring the great outdoors, fueling his love for adventure and nature.
Madelaine Kioke is a member of the Attawapiskat First Nation. She was raised in Moosonee and has travelled extensively to the James Bay communities. She is a Cree Language Instructor, Cree Translator and Interpreter, a workshop facilitator and a legal worker. She is currently the female elder for Mushkegowuk Council.
A dedicated trainer specializing in the use of force. As an educator and instructor, he focuses on community safety planning through programs like the Situation Table. He is committed to empowering communities and ensuring their safety through education and strategic planning. Jeffrey is an ultra marathon runner and retired OPP Staff Sergeant.
Neil moved up to Moose Factory from the North Bay area where he had worked in the farming and logging industries to work as a Paramedic for WAHA. Seeing first hand the effects of the scourge of illegal drugs in the community Neil saw the need to get as much of the drug supply cut off from reaching the local people as possible. When not working he tries to spend as much time as possible out on the river boating, fishing or out on the land snowmobiling and helping locals top up their firewood supply.
Coming from the plains of northern Belgium, through the Ardennes forest, Radar, the Belgian Malinois, has been a loyal companion of Randy. Radar is trained and certified in Canada and the U.S. to detect narcotics of all sorts. Not a violent dog, Radar is happy to display his skill to youth in schools. Radar is vaccinated.
